Los Angeles Meow Salvage is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, fostering and permanent home placement of stray and shelter cats in Los Angeles and adjacent counties. Through fostering, rehabilitation, TNR, Working Cat Programs, partnerships, community education and adoption programs, our goal is to end euthanasia in shelters, reduce stray cat colonies, and engage local communities in a compassionate approach to cat rescue and responsible pet companionship.
Our founding team has been rescuing and fostering cats since 1997 and finding them responsible loving permanent homes. Our initial focus on taking in found / abandoned neighborhood kittens. In the most recent years, this expanded to rescuing pregnant cats and cats with litters from shelters, facilitating TNR spay/neuter of local cat colonies and working cat programs for suitable feral cats.
We foster our cats in comfortable and sizeable rooms where they can easily move, stretch and not feel confined until they are tested and cleared to be around other cats. Then they are transitioned to a home-like environment, where we focus on making sure each rescue has a temperament suitable for happy living in a forever home. Our adoption events feature the ability to sit in a comfortable room and play / interact with the cats & kittens so prospective adopters can get to know their personalities. All cats are spayed / neutered and receive base vaccinations & de-worming prior to adoption.
We are a 100% volunteer based organization, and our dedication to our mission shows through the love we have for each of our rescues.
